We Love Soul is hosting a listening party/meet and greet for R&B/Soul artist Carmen Rodgers and the release of her latest project, STARGAZER.

 Carmen Rodgers is one of countless artists who emerged during the 2000s and deserved to be known by more than serious, deep-digging R&B listeners. Born in Mississippi, raised in Texas, and based in Georgia (specifically Atlanta), Rodgers contributed a mellow but stimulating highlight, "Ain't No Time," to Hidden Beach Recordings Presents Hidden Hits, Vol. 1, released in 2003. This was followed by numerous appearances on compilations for other labels, including ones from U.K. outlets Expansion and Dome, as well as featured appearances on recordings by the likes of Darryl Reeves, the Foreign Exchange, and Zo! (and many live performances with the latter two). Rodgers has also issued independent solo albums, including the self-released Free (2004) and The Bitter Suite (2011), as well as Stargazer (2015), the last of which was supported by Purpose Music Group.

Thank You and Happy New Year!

Thank You to all who were present at We Love Soul's Pre-NYE Celebration "The Party Of The Year" and yes it was just that. What an awesome time celebrating Duane Powell's birthday as well as the close of 2014 while getting ready for 2015. Big ups to Phonte for holding it down all night on the mic. Thank you to all who worked behind the scenes. Wow, what a great time! 
Thank you for your continued support and for supporting us in 2014.

 Over the last few years We Love Soul’s Pre-NYE Celebration has been deemed “The Party Of The Year” and for good reason. Throughout the tenure of this social affair and party, there have been a few legendary impromptu and organic happenings much to the approval of attendees including live performances from singers, musicians and dancers coupled with the great atmosphere provided by sexy venues and the stylings of the We Love Soul DJs. This year will prove no different as our featured guest who will serve as the Master of Ceremony/Host is Phonte of The Foreign Exchange.  We will also be celebrating the birthday of one of Chicago’s favorite sons of Soul Music, Duane Powell.
You are invited to join us for this awesome celebration to close 2014 in proper fashion.

Maceo Parker is synonymous with Funky Music, his pedigree impeccable; his band: the tightest little funk orchestra on earth.
It's fairly common knowledge that Maceo has played with each and every leader of funk, his start with James Brown, which Maceo describes as "like being at University"; jumping aboard the Mothership with George Clinton; and his ongoing part in Prince's tours. He's the living, breathing pulse which connects the history of Funk in one golden thread. The cipher which unravels dance music down to its core.
